Gooey Butter
Cheese Cake from Gone With The

1 box yellow
butter cake mix
-
2 eggs
-
1/2 cup butter or
margarine, melted

1 cup cooked grits

1 8-oz. package
cream cheese
-
1 16-oz. package
powdered sugar
-
2 eggs (in
addition to above)
-
1 teaspoon
vanilla
Preheat oven to
350.
Combine first 4 ingredients in large mixing bowl. Beat
thoroughly. Spread mixture in well-greased 9x13-inch baking
pan. Beat next 4 ingredients until smooth and creamy. Pour over cake
batter. BAKE FOR 35-40 MINUTES. Cool and cut into bars.
(Topping will be
"gooey." Serves 24-36!)
* Use ol' fashioned stone-ground grits,
following package directions, or use quick grits ? For 1 cup of cooked
grits, use about 4 tablespoons of grits to 1 cup of water, following
recommended cooking time on package.
